The Vault Dweller's Survival Guide is an award winning promotional item. It's a 48 page booklet with 28 original 50s style illustrations. Numerous actual survival guides and advertisements from the fifties were poured over to make these drawings as authentic as possible. It was distributed at the 2008 Penny Arcade Video Game Expo to announce the release of Fallout 3. Fans asked "how much" even though they were giving away all 50,000 copies for free. Several of the illustrations were used in the official instruction manual included with every game shipped.
